     Dorothy Rowena (Hoy) Muir, 90, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Unity Point Methodist/Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL.
     She was born November 20, 1926 in Pawnee City, NE, the daughter of Rev. Joseph and Jessie (Rice) Hoy. She married George C. Muir June 5, 1948 in Charleston, IL. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2004 in Hammond, IN.
     Dorothy is survived by her children, Craig (Cristine) Muir of Lafayette, IN and Kathie (Steve) Rollins of Peoria, IL; brother, David Hoy of Elgin, IL; grandchildren, Scott (Cassie), Todd and Matthew Muir; and great grandchildren, Crosby and Charlotte Muir.
     She taught music in the public schools in Indiana and Illinois for over 30 years. She was a member PEO and of Woodmar United Methodist Church, Hammond, IN.
     Funeral services will be private. Inurnment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
     Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, IL.
     Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Apostolic Christian Skylines Nursing Center, 7023 NE Skyline Drive, Peoria, IL 61614.
